Shalom Teachers Retreat

…Well done, thou good and faithful servant… Enter thou into the joy of the Lord (Matthew 25:21)

Shalom Family Enrichment Mission felt the burden of conducting an orientation programme for the Shalom leaders who are teachers in order to rejuvenate and empower them to take on the next academic year.

The Shalom teachers retreat was conducted on 9th June 2024 in the Shalom Headquarters between 12:00 noon and 4:30 pm. About 20 teachers participated in the programme.

As in the style of Shalom the programme was well planned with fun games, good message and delicious food. Ms. Anita Yazhini, Asst. Prof. Department of Counselling Psychology, Loyola College spoke on psychological issues that students face today and the ways to handle them. It was a great interactive session and it really changed the prespective of the teachers.

Mrs. Meehal Godwin, Retd. Headmasters talked on the topic “Empowering the Teachers”. Her own experiences and the challenges she handled made a lasting Impact on the teachers and they were motivated to face the challenges with prayers.

Dr. Roopsingh, Retd, Principal added spiritual nutrition to the soul in his concluding thought. He emphasised the read to be lead by the Holy Spirit. The programme ended with the renewal of commitment on the motto “Only a lit candle can light another candle. The commitment prayer was led by Dr. Gnanam Rajasingh.

All the participants went as lighted candles ready to light the students entrusted to them.
